INPOWERED THERAPY IS HIRING

Full Time Psychotherapist: Children, Adolescents & Adults

Post-Doctoral Fellows & Early-Career Licensed Clinicians Welcome

WHO WE ARE

InPowered Therapy is a growing group practice in Chicago rooted in the belief that deep, thoughtful clinical work requires deep, thoughtful support for the clinicians doing it. Our team draws on attachment-based, body-focused, and mindfulness-based approaches, including Internal Family Systems, somatic experiencing, ACT, and other integrative modalities. We take a trauma-informed, culturally responsive approach to all of our work, and we believe that examining the impact of social power structures on our clients and ourselves is part of the job.

Our leadership practices what we ask of our clinicians. We show up as whole humans, do our own growth work, and believe that honest, brave relationships between team members and leadership are a key element to how good clinical work gets sustained.

We're building something intentional, and we're looking for someone who wants to be part of that.

THE OPPORTUNITY

We're seeking an early-career psychotherapist to join our team in a permanent, full time growth-oriented role. You'll work with children, adolescents, and adults in a hybrid setting. In-office required for child and family work, telehealth available for appropriate cases.

One of our established clinicians is going on parental leave this summer. That means the new hire starts with an established foundation of engaged clients rather than building from zero. It's a meaningful head start, and it creates a rare opportunity for shared clinical consultation: working with clients another experienced clinician knows personally offers a depth of learning that traditional case consultation can't replicate.

We're also interested in candidates who have an interest in growing into areas like relationship and couples work, trauma-focused individual therapy, yoga, or holistic wellness. While these are areas of active demand and interest in our practice, a background or interest in them is a bonus, not a requirement.

What makes this role different:

  • You'll receive direct IFS-informed mentorship from our founder, Dr. Jennifer Schroeder, PsyD, including dedicated consultation on select cases to develop depth and clinical precision.

  • You'll work with a licensed clinical supervisor for your supervision hours, separate from leadership.

  • Monthly lunch and learns, consultation groups, and ongoing team collaboration focused on clinical skill development.

  • You'll have the support and freedom to develop programming and clinical offerings that align with your interests and expertise.

  • You're joining at a stage where your ideas and energy will shape what this practice becomes,  not filling a box someone else designed.

Dr. Schroeder and the InPowered Therapy team bring a depth of expertise, including advanced training in approaches like IFS, somatic and body-based therapies, and clinical psychology. Our varied perspectives, shared curiosity, and collaborative approach ensure that strong mentorship and learning are a core part of what we're offering.

WHO WE'RE LOOKING FOR

Early-career therapists thrive here. If you're a post-doctoral fellow or newly licensed clinician looking for real mentorship, high-quality supervision, and a team that will invest in your development, this role was designed with you in mind. Experienced clinicians drawn to our values and approach are also welcome to apply.

You should have experience working with children and families, practicum and internship experience counts. You don't need to be a child specialist, but you should be comfortable in the room with kids and genuinely interested in growing in this area. Interest in trauma-focused work and willingness to develop couples and relationship therapy skills are a strong plus.

We want to hear from you if you:

  • Believe vulnerability is a strength, not a weakness

  • Bring a willingness to make mistakes and share what you learn from them

  • Value brave conversations over comfortable silence

  • Want to work collaboratively on a team that actually practices what it preaches

  • Are drawn to holistic, integrative, and body-informed approaches to therapy

  • Bring diverse perspectives and lived experiences to your clinical work

  • See mentorship and supervision as essential to becoming the clinician you want to be

  • Are curious about what you want to build — whether that's a clinical niche, group programming, or something we haven't thought of yet

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

  • $50,000 to $72,000 annually based on caseload, with incentive-based performance bonuses

  • W2 employment with session-based pay structure and generous paid admin time

  • Paid vacation and sick time

  • Fully covered short-term and long-term disability insurance

  • Fully covered professional liability insurance

  • BCBS PPO health insurance with partial employer premium coverage for full-time clinicians

  • 401(k) with employer match

  • All billing, administrative, and referral coordination handled for you

  • Level 2 Certified somatic IFS mentorship and case consultation with the practice founder

  • Regular team consultation focused on clinical skill development

  • Access to our beautiful, sun-drenched office space and dedicated yoga and wellness studio
